Pre- Timed Signal System:

At pre-time traffic signals, each signal phase or traffic movement is served in a programmed sequence that is repeated throughout the day. Main street Traffic receives a fixed amount of green time followed by the amber and red clearance intervals. The same interval timing is then repeated for the minor side street. The amount of time takes to service all conflicting traffic movements is referred to as the cycle length.

 Vehicle Actuated Signal Control:

Semi – actuated control – a semi actuated controller provides vehicle detection for minor/side streets except the main road. A continuous green is maintained on the major road except when a demand is registered by the side road detector. The right of way always returns to the major street when no vehicles are present on the minor street or a timing limit has been reached. Semi –actuated is best suited for locations with low volume minor street traffic. It may also be used to permit the pedistrians crossings at mid street.

Fully Actuated Control:

An actuated controller adjust signal green time cycle-by-cycle. As per real time traffic demand by the actuation of vehicle and / or pedestrians detector. There are several types of actuated controllers but there main feature is their ability to adjust signals green, light lengths in response to traffic flow. If there is no vehicle detected on an approach, the controller can skip that phase. Cycle lengths and phases are adjusted at intervals set by vehicles actuation of pavement loops microwave radar/ video detector

Pedestrian Crossing Traffic Signals:

Pedestrian crossing signals lights are installed on major roads where heavy pedestrians traffic needs right – of -way  to cross the road safely

Pedestrian Push Buttons:

Are provided for pedestrians, wanting to cross the major road. The traffic signal remains vehicular traffic until a pedestrian pushes a button when this occurs a “call” is sent to traffic signal controller and at the appropriate time in the cycle main street green will terminate and right of ay is provided to pedestrian traffic lights. After pedestrian green time, right of way returns to main road traffic.

SCATS-UTC system:

The Sydney coordinated adaptive traffic system (scats) is the traffic management system that is used to link multiple traffic signal controllers together to reduce travel time and fuel consumptions. SCADA based traffic signal system is  a cheaper way to your apparatus through GSM/GPRS modem or dial up modem connected to a normal telephone line with PC & Traffic Controller.
